Commissioning

Operations

Also known as: System Commissioning, Plant Commissioning

Commissioning is the systematic process of energising, testing, and verifying a BESS plant before it begins commercial operation. It proceeds progressively — subsystem by subsystem — confirming that each component performs to specification. Key commissioning activities include electrical testing, PCS performance verification, BMS calibration, fire suppression testing, communication checks, and grid code compliance testing. The process culminates in a Site Acceptance Test (SAT), which formally verifies overall plant performance and marks the handover from EPC contractor to asset owner.
