SAT
OperationsAlso known as: Site Acceptance Test, Performance Acceptance Test
A Site Acceptance Test (SAT) is the formal performance verification conducted at the end of commissioning to confirm that a BESS plant meets its contractual specifications. The SAT typically covers round-trip efficiency, energy capacity, power output, response times, availability, and grid code compliance.
Successful completion of the SAT triggers the formal handover from the EPC contractor to the asset owner, starts warranty periods, and enables the plant to enter commercial operation. SAT procedures and pass/fail criteria are defined in the EPC contract.
