Gross Scope 1 was 40,848 tCO2e in 2025 against 37,066 in 2024, an increase of 10 per cent. Market-based Scope 2 fell 53 per cent to 5,960 tCO2e from 12,771; location-based Scope 2 was 18,127 tCO2e against 19,849. The combined Scope 1 and market-based Scope 2 figure of 46,808 tCO2e is derived by addition. Total GHG emissions including Scope 3 were 112,133,508 tCO2e market-based, down 3 per cent, dominated by use of sold products. Renewable electricity was 79 per cent of total electricity consumption, or 68,400 MWh, from self-generated solar and energy attribute certificates. There were zero work-related fatalities among both own employees and other workers on Wärtsilä premises in 2025, and 68 Wärtsilä companies covering about 91 per cent of the workforce operate a certified ISO 45001 system. External ratings: MSCI AAA, CDP Climate B, ISS ESG C+ Prime, Sustainalytics 24 (top 5 per cent), DJSI 62 (top 5 per cent), EcoVadis 74 Silver. Target of carbon neutral own operations by 2030.
