Operations & Maintenance (O&M) covers the day-to-day running of a BESS plant after commissioning. This includes performance monitoring, preventive and corrective maintenance, spare parts management, coordination with the grid operator, software updates, and managing plant availability.
O&M can be performed by the asset owner's in-house team, the EPC contractor under a long-term service agreement (LTSA), or a specialist third-party O&M provider. Key O&M metrics include system availability, response time to faults, and maintaining battery health within warranty parameters.
