Aussi appelé : Nickel Manganese Cobalt, NMC Lithium-ion

Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) is a lithium-ion battery chemistry that uses a cathode containing nickel, manganese, and cobalt. NMC offers higher energy density than LFP, meaning more energy can be stored per unit of weight or volume. However, NMC has a higher risk of thermal runaway, shorter cycle life in stationary storage applications, and higher material cost due to cobalt and nickel content. While NMC dominates the EV market, the grid-scale BESS industry has largely shifted to LFP. NMC is still used in some C&I and legacy utility-scale installations.
